Fourth Grade

This week.....


Math:  Students will compare and order fractions.

Reading:  Students are working on their reading goals that they set for themselves.  This round of reading goals will end March 31. Also, they are beginning a new unit on Traditional Literature.  

Writing:  Now that the students have published their first piece of writing, they are working on an new unit: Realistic Fiction.  This week, they will brainstorm ideas for their stories and choose one character and a problem that the character will face.

SS/Science: Students are learning about electricity and how to build different circuits.  They are working towards a final project that includes wiring an electric house and deciding which energy resource they should use to generate electricity. They will have to weigh the pros and cons of nonrenewable and renewable natural resources available and justify their choice.
